Local conditions
Homes and conditions in Pyrmont
In Pyrmont, 0% of occupied private dwellings are separate houses, 6% are semis, terraces or townhouses, and 94% are flats or apartments.
64% of those flats sit in blocks of nine storeys or more. In a tower that tall the cooling is often part of the building's own plant, so the strata committee controls it rather than the apartment owner. In the lower blocks it is a wall-mounted or ducted split sized for one apartment, and the by-law about where an outdoor unit may be fixed decides the design before the equipment does.
